Whistleblowers should be encouraged and protected so vital information comes to light. Eventually truth will prevail. A cutting edge investigative journalism program, Whistle, will be one of the flagship shows on the new PBS, a model of impartiality, since it will be funded and won't sell out like most of the mainstream media has. The best of the independent verifiers could aspire to be part of this pinnacle of free speech.
Partisan bias will be vilified. When a bombshell hits, those who turned a blind eye could be seen as complicit. We cannot prevent the fox from wanting to look after the henhouse, but any number of roosters would be there too, eventually banishing the fox.
